We haven't had a rental car or 15 passenger van in weeks. We made it back to our home in Marblehead, Mass to a September blizzard. We like your weather forecasts better. Thanks for wonderful memories in Hilo. Mahalo

What a nice place to stay. Very clean, grounds are nice and a good breakfeast. The walk to the beach is nice. Much nicer place to stay than a hotel.

Aloha and Ohana are just often in Hawaii and can sometimes just be words. But Penne and Alan live it each day.

This was our second stay here at Aaron's Cottage. We were truely greeted and treated more like family than as guests. If you're looking for a huge resort experience, this isn't it. But if you're looking for a place where they actually care about you, you;ve found it. We'll always come back whenever we're on the Big Island.

We recently stayed at Aaron's Cottage. It was actually our second stay. We really enjoy the "Aloha" from the owners, Alan and Penne. They really make you feel welcome. The Amish Friendship Bread is incredible.
We plan on coming back the next time we have an extended stay on the island.

My daughter and I stayed at Aaron's Cottage while visiting my sister during Thanksgiving week. Our stay was relaxing, refreshing, and revitalizing. Who could not relax with the breathtaking island of Hilo surrounding you and the beach oceanside literally steps from the front or backyard! The room was spacious, clean and accommodating. The homemade breakfasts were amazing and brought to the kitchen warm and fresh each morning. The hosts Penne and Allen were also warm and refreshingly gracious. I definitely would want to stay at Aaron's Cottage every time I come to visit Hilo! Mahalo!

We enjoyed our too-short stay. The proximity to the sea and to the very pleasant town of Hilo were the main attractions. The room was spacious and clean, with beautiful hand-made bed spread and pillow shams - very attractive. I hope to take advantage of the attractive gazebo, grill and flowers on our next visit. We'll certainly stay more than 2 nights next time.

Aaron's cottage was the best place for me and my family to stay, it was so inviting, very kid friendly and Penne and Alan made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Beautiful back yard, lots of room for the kids to run around and their dogs missy and max were so playful. We really enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts that Penne & Alan offered. I know that when we decide to go on vacation again Penne & Alan will be our first choice, and Will be recommended to all of our friends and family. Thank you so very much your Hospitality. Clean, spacious and so comfortable, great breakfasts and use of kitchen anytime -- and as everyone remarks, such truly wonderful and genuine hospitality!
Also, a superb location, close by a secluded little beach where you can snorkel with turtles -- fantastic! Great place to relax, would love to visit again, for more than just a few days next time!
Alan & Penne, many thanks again for such a nice wrap-up to our time on Big Island - aloha!

Wow. Aaron's Cottage is hospitality with a capital "H". From the moment we got there, we felt at home. My husband and I are STILL raving about the fried rice we were offered for breakfast. Simply amazing. Our room was cozy and comfortable and the beach was just minutes away on foot. Alan gave us a great dinner recommendation (Seaside Restaurant), so we ate like royalty the whole time we were there. Alan and Penne epitomize the spirit of aloha. We can't recommend this place enough. Thanks, you guys!

Aaron's cottage was a perfect little home away from home, especially the thoughtful details like the locally made bedspreads and all the coffee we could drink! The dogs were so beautiful, and Alan is so friendly and helpful. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet Penne (wonderful bread BTW), but hopefully when we return which we surely will!

We stayed at Aaron's Cottage for three nights in all three rooms. We were very pleased with the rooms and very friendly and accommodating hosts. The location is very quiet and convenient. And if you have kids, having a yard for them to run around in is great.

Loved the breakfasts - Penne is a fantastic baker; we could not get enough of her bread and muffins. :)

Do try the ice cream at the shop down the road!

Mahalo again.

What a lucky break for us that I found Aaron's Cottage for our 3 night stay in Hilo! We could not have been happier with the location, the price, the accommodations, and the great hosts. My husband and I were both very comfortable in the cozy bed and loved the shared lanai overlooking the serene garden like back yard. The bathroom was so roomy and there were plenty of fluffy towels as well as handy extras. The shared kitchen and grill were perfect for cooking out, and Penne's great breakfast foods were a tasty treat. I loved talking story with both Penne and Alan and only wish we had more time to socialize! Mahalo plenty for your graciousness and for giving us the sense of ohana during our stay. Can't wait to come back!!!!
Aloha pumehana,
Ann & Jim
P.S. We followed Penne's suggestion to try the ginger ice cream down the street and OMG, was it nui ono good!!!! We've been on a quest to find some as good, but to no avail!! If you're there, try it!

We just returned from our Big Island vacation and loved staying at Aaron's Cottage. The room was comfy, food was 'ono, and Penne and Alan are the BEST hosts. All this, and we were only a block from the ocean and fantastic whale watching. Mahalo for an unforgettable anniversary! We can't wait to come back again.

Staying at Aaron's Cottage was such a great experience! We wouldn't have wanted to experience Hilo any other way. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was so yummy...fresh biscuits with eggs and avocado (from their yard!). The Portuguese sweet bread and Liliko'i Butter was to die for. I'm just sad we can't find liliko'i butter in California. Max and Mini (their two beautiful dalmatians) are so sweet and fun to play with. We can't wait to come back and visit!

We have spent the last 5 years on one the Hawaiian Islands. I must say that the week we spent at your little piece of paradise is that one that will be remembered above all the rest and with gratitude and appreciation for your kindness and hospitality. We were comfortable and well fed. I can’t decide which was my favorite for breakfast. Who could say that Hawaiian rice is better than homemade biscuits and passion fruit butter. Then there were those silver dollar pancakes. Hummmm which to choose??? They were all so good. You both go above and beyond to make a stay in Hilo a home away from home with your fully equipped kitchen with all the little extras. We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay.
