Loved, loved staying here. Breakfast was unforgettable, hospitality of Penne and Alan was awesome! I didn't even know I had family on the big island until I met them. They are the kind of folks you meet and want to add to your Christmas mailer. More than a hotel, this is the place to stay. Take it easy and enjoy! Save us a room, we'll be back!!!

Had a wonderful weekend at the cottage. Very clean and even handicap accessible, including the bathroom. Wish I had a nice seat down shower like that. We were welcomed and so happy we chose here over staying at the Seaside Hotel. Being we are local from another island, there for just a quick visit with family...we were looking for a good rate, but still wanted safe and clean. This was a perfect location and so close to a lovely little beach. Loved our ono delicious breakfast. Hot Kona Coffee with homemade pancakes, complete with coconut syrup and fresh grated coconut. Top it off with sweet fresh strawberrie, kiwi and blueberries. Fresh eggs available as well as anything you would need to make your own lunch and dinner on property. January 25 to Jan 27 2013. We would of stayed longer but it was all booked up. Mahalo nui loa~ gail

what a wonderful place to stay! pretty much right around the corner from the airport, clean room with comfy bed and crisp linens, and you get fresh island eggs for breakfast? sold! there's also a little convenience store not far that sells home made icecream, just ask Alan! Penne got in touch with me prior to our arrival asking of any dietary requests, i wanted bacon with my eggs, and guess what, i got bacon! my only regret is that we didn't stay longer, which will be fixed next time we're on the Big Island. could not have thought of a better "welcome to Hawaii!" than we got at Aaron's Cottage!

This place is awesome!! Alan & Penny are like running into long lost family you never knew you lost track of :) they provide a world class experience from start to finish. I will be back many times & yet I live only 50 miles away. You won't even come close anywhere in Hilo for the service received at an amazingly low cost.

We have been here nearly 3 weeks. We leave on Wednesday. This is by far the finest treatment I have ever had in any hotel etc. Allen and Penne are 100% customer service and have become dear friends alsol. Then there is Max and Missy the dalmations that are as sweet as they can be. They helped fill the void of leaving our own little 1yr old poodle home. Then there is Charlie! The most adorabable 130# baby you will ever meet. He is still so much puppy he is just comical to watch. He plays with coconuts because he tears up any toy they buy in 2 minutes. If you a looking for a place to be comfortable, safe, wonderful breakfast, slow paced and yet as fine as any resort this is the place. We have traveled nearly 2000 miles in the time we have been here and have seen almost everything. This has been the most restful vacation I have ever been on. You will not find anywhere so lovely and accomadating.

We haven't had a rental car or 15 passenger van in weeks. We made it back to our home in Marblehead, Mass to a September blizzard. We like your weather forecasts better. Thanks for wonderful memories in Hilo. Mahalo

Aloha and Ohana are just often in Hawaii and can sometimes just be words. But Penne and Alan live it each day.

This was our second stay here at Aaron's Cottage. We were truely greeted and treated more like family than as guests. If you're looking for a huge resort experience, this isn't it. But if you're looking for a place where they actually care about you, you;ve found it. We'll always come back whenever we're on the Big Island.

We recently stayed at Aaron's Cottage. It was actually our second stay. We really enjoy the "Aloha" from the owners, Alan and Penne. They really make you feel welcome. The Amish Friendship Bread is incredible.
We plan on coming back the next time we have an extended stay on the island.

My daughter and I stayed at Aaron's Cottage while visiting my sister during Thanksgiving week. Our stay was relaxing, refreshing, and revitalizing. Who could not relax with the breathtaking island of Hilo surrounding you and the beach oceanside literally steps from the front or backyard! The room was spacious, clean and accommodating. The homemade breakfasts were amazing and brought to the kitchen warm and fresh each morning. The hosts Penne and Allen were also warm and refreshingly gracious. I definitely would want to stay at Aaron's Cottage every time I come to visit Hilo! Mahalo!

We enjoyed our too-short stay. The proximity to the sea and to the very pleasant town of Hilo were the main attractions. The room was spacious and clean, with beautiful hand-made bed spread and pillow shams - very attractive. I hope to take advantage of the attractive gazebo, grill and flowers on our next visit. We'll certainly stay more than 2 nights next time.

Aaron's cottage was the best place for me and my family to stay, it was so inviting, very kid friendly and Penne and Alan made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Beautiful back yard, lots of room for the kids to run around and their dogs missy and max were so playful. We really enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts that Penne & Alan offered. I know that when we decide to go on vacation again Penne & Alan will be our first choice, and Will be recommended to all of our friends and family. Thank you so very much your Hospitality. Clean, spacious and so comfortable, great breakfasts and use of kitchen anytime -- and as everyone remarks, such truly wonderful and genuine hospitality!
Also, a superb location, close by a secluded little beach where you can snorkel with turtles -- fantastic! Great place to relax, would love to visit again, for more than just a few days next time!
Alan & Penne, many thanks again for such a nice wrap-up to our time on Big Island - aloha!

Wow. Aaron's Cottage is hospitality with a capital "H". From the moment we got there, we felt at home. My husband and I are STILL raving about the fried rice we were offered for breakfast. Simply amazing. Our room was cozy and comfortable and the beach was just minutes away on foot. Alan gave us a great dinner recommendation (Seaside Restaurant), so we ate like royalty the whole time we were there. Alan and Penne epitomize the spirit of aloha. We can't recommend this place enough. Thanks, you guys!

Aaron's cottage was a perfect little home away from home, especially the thoughtful details like the locally made bedspreads and all the coffee we could drink! The dogs were so beautiful, and Alan is so friendly and helpful. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet Penne (wonderful bread BTW), but hopefully when we return which we surely will!
